This segment focuses on Maria's life in the Philippines and her family background. She talks about where she was born and raised and what a typical day in the Philippines for her consisted of.

This segment mainly focuses on Maria's departure from the Philippines. She explains more in depth of the sacrifices she had to make involving the choice of leaving the Philippines for America.

This segment has Maria explain to us her experience in arriving in the United States. She tells us about her first impressions and expectations of America.
Segment 4: Homesickness
This short segment has Maria talk about her homesickness and how she deals with it and copes with it.

This segment focuses on Maria's overall experience with being filipino in the United States. She talks about her experience with discrimination and how she was able to cope with it.

This last segment focuses mainly on Maria's overall comments and experiences of her moving to the United States and living in the United States. She talks about her perception of the American Dream and some of her life lessons that she has learned.

My interviewee, Helen Aficial came to America with her parents when she was 19 years old. Helen and her parents wanted a taste of the American Dream, but did not know the hardships of living here in America. She has a family of four and currently works at the San Francisco Women's Healthcare. Helen is a kind-hearted person and is happy with the way life is treating her.
